Be able to work with a variety of network types such as: Ethernet/InfiniBand/Linux routing/BGP/OSPF/VPN/Network infrastructure/Host-based security.
Identify and define system security requirements.
Regularly perform security checks and troubleshooting.
Develop, execute, and track the performance of security measures to protect information, network infrastructure, and computer systems.
Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
Install software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.
Routinely conduct penetration testing.
Conduct testing and scans to identify any vulnerabilities in the network and system.
Implement new processes to optimize the company's security system.
Perform disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
Stay up to date with latest security technology and trends.
Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes, and propositions for further system security enhancement.
Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
Conduct proactive research to analyze security weaknesses and recommend appropriate strategies
Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Science in Computer Science or a related field of study with a network and security engineering focus.
Knowledge of security systems including anti-virus applications, content filtering, firewalls, authentication systems and intrusion detection and notification systems
Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols
Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions
Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers
